Dear Minister Gillard and Minister Daley, In 2007 we voted out the Howard Government because they took away our workplace rights and conditions. And Labor gave a clear commitment to voters that they would “uphold existing safety standards”. The Government is currently reviewing our work safety laws and our current OH&S standards in NSW are at risk. Elected workplace representatives and our unions stand to lose inspection and enforcement powers. This will have a direct impact on workplace injury and fatality rates. We are calling on our Federal and State Governments to keep their promise to keep its promise to the Australian people and put in place the best workplace safety standards for all.
